Margate Football Club has been working hard in a difficult economic climate and in a season that has seen unprecedented numbers of postponements to help provide funding for the ongoing development of the club and particularly the team. Director Cliff Egan provides an update.
In addition to the bucket collection at the Carshalton Athletic game in aid of SPORT RELIEF, the football club are also auctioning the match ball signed by the Margate squad.
Another draw combined with wins for Waltham Abbey and Billericay leaves Margate at the bottom of the table despite their longest unbeaten run of the season. But the windy conditions made the game difficult for both sides to play their football.
Margate and Carshalton shared the points in a game between two of the division’s bottom three. There were few chances throughout the game as both midfields cancelled each other out and the defences coped with what their opponents had to throw at them. Margate welcomes Carshalton Athletic to Hartsdown Park tomorrow (Saturday) for what will be the first meeting between the two sides this season, but a meeting that could have a profound impact on who goes down come the end of the season.
