Margate surrendered 1-0 and 3-1 leads as they finished their home campaign with a disappointing home defeat at the hands of relegation threatened local rivals Folkestone Invicta, writes Steve Ball.

Margate had to come from behind to beat relegated Leyton in East London this afternoon. Another two goals from top scorer James Pinnock plus one each from Jimmy Jackson and Ryan Peters won the points for the Blues after going behind to two goals in the opening 24 minutes.

Margate at last won a Ryman League game against Billericay Town at the fifth attempt. It was a game of two halves as the biting wind favoured the home side in the first half and Margate in the second. The difference between the sides was the fact that Gate were able to take advantage whereas the home side’s profligacy and Scott Chalmers-Stevens brilliance prevented ‘Ricay doing likewise.
