Welcome to the Margate FC Season 2007/08 Review. In this year’s review we’ll look at the season in three parts. |

MFC 4, Folkestone Invicta 5
|
|
Margate surrendered 1-0 and 3-1 leads as they finished their home campaign with a disappointing home defeat at the hands of relegation threatened local rivals Folkestone Invicta, writes Steve Ball. |

Leyton 2, MFC 4
|
Margate had to come from behind to beat relegated Leyton in East London this afternoon. Another two goals from top scorer James Pinnock plus one each from Jimmy Jackson and Ryan Peters won the points for the Blues after going behind to two goals in the opening 24 minutes.

Margate and AFC Wimbledon served up an entertaining encounter at Kingsmeadow this evening with the home side hitting the wining goal three minutes into second half added time to secure a 2-1 win.

The Blues recorded their second win in succession at Hartsdown, against Carshalton Athletic in today’s Ryman League Premier Division clash. In doing so, Gate gained some revenge for the 0-3 score-line at Colston Avenue earlier in the season.

In an entertaining game, Margate booked their place in the next round of the Kent Senior Cup with this 2-1 win over Blue Square South Welling United, at a chilly Hartsdown Park this evening.

Margate at last won a Ryman League game against Billericay Town at the fifth attempt. It was a game of two halves as the biting wind favoured the home side in the first half and Margate in the second. The difference between the sides was the fact that Gate were able to take advantage whereas the home side’s profligacy and Scott Chalmers-Stevens brilliance prevented ‘Ricay doing likewise.
