News Update
|
The Directors efforts to clear the outstanding Revenue and Customs debt, in time for the revised hearing in November continue but to date no firm commitments have been made.
In order to protect the long term future of both the Club and the redevelopment, the Directors, in conjunction with the Clubs Development partner, have agreed to apply for a Company Voluntary Arrangement.
The proposed CVA will be for a fixed period of one year. It will carry an undertaking from our Development partner that Revenue and Customs will be paid in full upon them entering into necessary leases with Thanet District Council and commencing the redevelopment.
Whilst the proposed CVA will provide the protection needed to prevent the Company being wound up, the Club will automatically be deducted 10 points by the Football Association for its actions.
The Directors continue to seek an alternative route for the Club and would like to thank MISA for their continuing efforts to raise funds. Should an alternative solution be found prior to 26 November 2008, the CVA will be halted.

News Update
|
The Club continues to work on the two options now available to them to resolve the debt to HM Revenue & Customs by 26th November 2008.
The welcome news that supporters of the Club have launched their own appeal to raise funds to assist the Club at this difficult time, was extremely well received. We would very much appreciate any financial help available.
The general state of the economy has had a major impact on the Clubs very loyal and supportive sponsors, with over 60% of the Clubs income from these areas withdrawn or cancelled.
Moving on to some good news, the Club have made massive forward steps regarding its redevelopment. The planning application for the medical centre submitted on 30 September 2008 has now become live. This followed an issue over the need for further sequential tests which has now been resolved.
The Developers have moved forward with the appointment of the Project Quantity Surveyors and the required CDMC Officer. They have set out a programme which requires tenders to be issued by the end of January 2009 with a projected start date of March 2009. This programme is subject to planning consent being granted.
The initial design of our new stadium will be a slightly downgraded version, which will be upgraded as the Club moves forward and back in to the Conference. The stadium will have a 5000 capacity when finished. Architects are now working on the revised stadium drawings and these together with a complete update will be available to all supporters at a forum, date to be confirmed.
The progress that Generation Sports have made with the Management of the 5 a-side centre has seen usage of the pitches increase to a level which, if it continues, will see the Club receiving a share of the profits as per our agreement with our Developer.
It is almost a year since the 5 a-side centre opened but hopefully now, if bookings continue to increase the Club can look to secure regular monthly income, which is what everyone here has worked long and hard for.

News Update
|
Stadium Redevelopment The progress the Club hoped to make over the last 4 weeks to secure the proposed main operator was delayed whilst key parties involved in the final negotiations were away on holiday. All parties concerned will be available again from 12 August 2008 and our Development Partners are attempting to set a final meeting for next week. We will issue an updated statement as soon as results are finalised.
New Main Sponsor Due to a number of delays the Club has encountered in finalising details with our new sponsor, we have been forced to accept that our proposed 3 year deal will now not be completed in time for this coming Season. We have been fortunate, therefore, that our Development Partner London and Margate Developments Ltd, has agreed to stand in as our main sponsor until the details with the above main sponsor have been settled, allowing them to formally announce their involvement. The Club would like to express its gratitude to London and Margate for their continued support.
Players Barry continues to look at and talk to new players and the Club expects to settle contract negotiations with a number of players in the days leading up to the new Season. Your Manager and the full Management Team are totally focused to ensure that only the right players are brought in and that work will continue to see further additions to the squad over the next few months.
New Kit We have received confirmation that our new kit has been manufactured and is now being labelled with the new sponsors details. This includes full kits and tracksuits for every single player down to the Under 7’s.
Youth Section Further good news for the youth section, their objective to provide every singly player with their own football has been achieved. This is down to the generosity of Mars, who in order to assist with the childrens development, have provided in the region of 500 free footballs for the Clubs aged 12 and over players. The Club would like to thank Neville Southall and also the Youth Section Chairman Luigi Scott for putting this deal in place.
