Nephew of Brighton Manager Gus Poyet, who competed in the English Schools' Athletic Association National Cross Country Championships in 2003.
Started in Fisher Athletic’s academy and junior sides before stepping up to the first team and making his debut in Conference South during 2006/07.
He was released along with entire squad by new manager Wayne Burnett in May 2007.
Aftertrying to find a club in Italy he joined Cambridge City and made 5 substitute appearances in Conference South before joining Hastings United in November 2007. His only goal of that season came in a 2-1 win at Margate in February.
After a few friendly appearances for Carshalton last summer he joined Maidstone in August on what was called a "gentlemen loan agreement" by Carshalton boss Hayden Bird.
After 1 goal in four appearances he returned to Hastings in September and after a total of o goals in 68 appearances for the Sussex side he moved to Dulwich Hamlet at the end of October and came to Margate at the start of December.
