Tenacious midfielder John re-signed for Margate in September 2009 after spending three years at Dover Athletic, during which he won the 2007/08 Player of the Season.
John is a former Sierra Leone international, who played in two World Cup qualifying games against Nigeria and Morocco and was signed by Chris Kinnear following spells with Faweh (Spartan League), Tigres (Mexico), Walsall, Chester City, Shrewsbury Town and Stevenage Borough, making 124 Football League appearances.
During his original five year spell with Margate he made over 180 appearances and scored 22 goals, including both the first game and replay of the FA Cup games against Leyton Orient in 2002 which saw the club progress to the Second Round for the first time in 29 years.
After Mark Butlers resignation in February John took temporary charge of team affairs, along with Wayne Wilson and after Iain O'Connells appointment as manager he continued in a player/coaching role.
