6' 1" goalkeeper who started off with West Ham as a ten year old and completed his scholarship at Upton Park during the 2005/06 season, having worked with the likes of Shaka Hislop, David James, Stephen Bywater and former Margate 'keepers Dave Blackmore and Darren Behcet.
Matt played several times for West Ham reserves and was on the bench for a Carling Cup tie before moving to Barnet on loan at the end of January 2006 for the remainder of the season, before being released by West Ham and joining Bristol City for the start of the 2006/07 season.
After making it no further than the bench he joined Walton Casuals in Ryman Division 1 South and made 38 appearances before the end of the season.
In the summer of 2007 he trialled with Crawley Town before joining Tonbridge Angels, making 58 appearances in all competitions. Left Longmead after one year and featured in friendlies for Dartford and Bognor before signing for Sittingbourne in September 2008, making 43 appearances.
Joined Carshalton Athletic at the start of this season and made 9 appearances before becoming Mark Butler's first signing in November.
